I saw one Rabbit TD in St-Anicet near Valleyfield in Quebec Canada. They was 2 rabbit parked, one with the Rabbit Diesel and the other one with the Rabbit Turbo Diesel hatch sign

but the hatch sing was not the one in the picture on this thread it was slightly different. Rabbit was wrote like on the first line and on the second line it was wrote Turbo Diesel in italic i think. So it was a factory emblem.
Yes Rabbit TD was availlable in Canada

i have a picture of that emblem that a guy sent me who lives here in ontario... i was going to buy the badge but then he wouldn't return emails!!
I've got one on mine that has: picture of rabbit, beside that is "RABBIT" written in large letters. "TURBO DIESEL" written smaller underneath that, and "GL" in the big letters to the side. Black w/ red. Also matching "VOLKSWAGEN" for the drivers side. I've got pictures, but don't really know how to post them. They're on file in my comp., but I don't know how to host or anything.
my rabbit is a 84 factory 4 door L turbo diesel complete with badge (been repainted badly tho)
84 - TD
I still have the engine! - Car is in rust heaven

I`m new here but thought I`d chime in: `83 Jetta TD with 4-speed auto,...
Yep, '83 and '84 TDs were sold in the USA, but our Canadian friends got them a couple of years earlier.

4 speed

?
I taught they were all 3 speed ?
3-speed plus an "E-gear" (economy)
All the E gear does is disengage when coasting and idling. IOW, in a Diesel, it doesn't help the economy much/at all.
