hmm, i thought the 12 pt ones were stretch bolts.
I could very well be wrong (99% of my experience is with the 02a trans), but I thought the six big bolts from pp to crank were one-time-use stretch bolts, and the 9 small bolts from flywheel to pp are reusable. What's the Bentley say? My Corrado Bentley (which served me well with my B4 VR6 Passat, lol) obviously doesn't address this.
Either way, it was probably short sighted of me not to just order a new set of those small bolts.

yes you are correct. but on older rabbits they had 6 small hex bolts instead of the 9 12 points. the 12 points i thought were also stretch bolts, the old 6 points are reusable, i found another set so i had 12 of the older hex style and used 9 on my car. hopefully thats not confusing.
Governor mod, fuel turned up, and star wheel adjusted to increase preload on the LDA spring. We still get quite a bit of smoke during boost transients, so I'm sure it needs a stiffer LDA spring. Also, believe it or not, we're not limited by fueling at full boost but live at altitude.
Interesting. I've heard rumors of just swapping the ports to build a TD pump, but never thought it could be that easy.
Guess I'll be giving it a shot. Thanks!
