No idea what the power output is, but I'm guessing it's somewhere around 150 whp. The car will give a new WRX a run for its money, while still averaging 45-47 mpg in city driving (this is with a 17-year-old driving it!). It's a pretty revvy setup that pulls hard to redline but still has the torque to break loose halfway through second on dry pavement. Very happy with the setup so far. I can pm you the details if you'd like.

Sorry I missed this. Governor mod, fuel turned up, and star wheel adjusted to increase preload on the LDA spring. We still get quite a bit of smoke during boost transients, so I'm sure it needs a stiffer LDA spring. Also, believe it or not, we're not limited by fueling at full boost but live at altitude.
Smoker - you had asked about my clutch setup in a pm, and I mentioned I was running a 16v pressure plate and 8v disc (with 210mm lightened flywheel). We recently had a near-catastrophic clutch failure and were lucky to get home. Two out of three straps on the PP failed, doing a number to the inside of our bell housing and creating a horrible racket whenever the clutch was disengaged. Based on a bit of web research, it is not an uncommon failure mode. Needless to say,
I do not recommend running a Sachs 16v PP with a Holset at high boost. I'm upgrading to an ACT setup. Just wanted to let you know before you started buying everything and to document this for other folks doing research.

ive heard lots of bad things about performance and the new sachs pp's. i went with a clutchnet setup for my build, never heard anything bad about them.

Good choice. It came down to clutchnet or ACT for me...I could've gone either way.

did you install it? how much did it cost? i got the yellow kit for an 84 gti, then had a flywheel lightened and cut which cost 150. the clutch kit was 309 so i ended up with about 460 in to it, and its a lot of clutch, definitely won't be slipping. the pp is really strong i wish i had gotten a weaker one with a 6 puck disc instead because the pedal is very heavy and my engine isn't that heavily modified for me to be bothered with the heavy pedal.

but i see yours is in a mk2 which has a nicer longer pedal that seems easier to push, mine is a mk1. i only have 20 miles on it though

Those prices seem very reasonable. I guess I'm still used to looking at upgraded clutches for my old stage 2.5 2.7t!

Since I wasn't having problems with slippage per se, and just needed a pressure plate with more robust construction, I simply bought an ACT pressure plate to use with the Sachs disc I just installed last August. During my research, I found two other folks who went the same route and had no subsequent problems. For my intended usage (street only), I think this setup will be fine.

hmm ok, i just reused my thrust plate it only had around 30k on it, and used the old reusable fw bolts on mine, the hex head ones are reusable.

Yeah, I'm just replacing the hex bolts. The 12 pt flywheel bolts are not stretch bolts and can be reused (and I just replaced them in August...).
I'm replacing the thrust plate because the wear point moved a bit off center after the pp straps broke. I've seen a lot of instances in which folks have had the pushrod punch a hole through the middle of it -- didn't want to take any chances.
