What do you guys use for shimming your gov solid?
I was thinking about using a piece of copper nickel brake line or fuel line cut to the same size as the spring.
Any other better suggestions?

I think most folks use a few hardware store washers. I used a roller from a bike chain because I happened to have it and it fit.
Yea I know you can shim it with washers but how does one shim it solid?

I used #8 washers IIRC from my work.
If you want to shim it solid, use more washers
...plus you need to think about whether you actually DO want to shim it solid. I wouldn't recommend it personally. Even a very small shim makes a huge difference. Unless you have plans to regularly run to 6500 RPM having a bit of spring left in the governor is a good thing.

I usually use 3 or 4 of the delivery valve copper washers when I do reseals.
