• I got to ~100 MH in an NA fox wagon with a good NA 1.6.  Probably had a tailwind.

• I may or may not have seen 113 mph in 4th gear with a 3.67 ring and pinion AGS with more to go in both 4th and 5th

  In my rebuilt 1.6td, intercooled with stock t3.  78 for me is my ACH 5th gear just cruising at 3k rpm without boost.  I have never gone for top speed so I cannot help with that but I would think you should be able exceed 78
