All the stock boost pins have an eccentric cone so that you can dial in the rate of fueling increase. I don't see that linked pin as any kind of improvement. The governor spring in the link will not work with the VW pumps.
If you're fueling is maxed and still not adequate on a TD pump (above 175hp...), then there are other mods that will allow more fuel while maintaining the ability to tune the boost-fuel.
Not the spring but I have 2 of these pins in my basement. One is in a Giles pump and the other on my shelf. Yes they work. They are hard to tune to achieve no smoke.
my friend machined a few of those and I have one in my pump.. here is a link
http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=30335.msg270388#msg270388It pulls real hard once it boosts but at the same time, the mechanical limits of the pump won't allow full use of the ramp on the pin as we found. A mod to the fuel lever would allow full fueling this pin provides.
as theman mentioned, it's hard to tune without smoking.. especially with a bigger turbo. using a stiffer spring in the aneroid kind of fixes that.
