Put a GT15 from a 98 TDI spools real fast but 25psi almost instantly. Now blown HG will have to resurface head. How can I control boost on this thing? And if manual control, which one and from where? Thanks
wastegates stuck shut, you need to free it up, and use a manual boost controller.
on mine i used a air pressure regulator for say an air tool/paint gun in a garage/body shop.. run mine 18-21psi... less then that you feel it surge on my set up..
Where did you install the reg? The wastegate on the gt15 is vacumn. controlled how did you use a pressure reg.?
i think you better look at it again... its not vac.. its pressure.. yea the tdi used vac stuff to activate and all.. but it still uses pressure to open the wastegate.. using a "blow gun" give it a little pressure to see if it moves... or a hand vac pump to see if it moves.. mine moved via blow gun method..
now newer vnt is vac operated.. so think your confusing stuff..
As was mentioned, a VNT turbo is vacuum operated.. (GT15VNT)
but the straight up GT15, is wastegated, and pressure operated..
25psi is WAY TOO MUCH for a GT15.. lucky you didnt explode it..

crsmp5 ran like 30psi on his k03 and it survived, I think
28 max was what i saw... have it set to 18-21 range...

25 sustained is still too much.. 18 is reasonable, but anything more, and the drive pressure goes off the charts, as demonstrated by the OPs blown head gasket..
