oh man..
my brain was off when i posted that..
i was thinking old passats/quantums..
and dont some of the newer generation passats have longitudinal engines?
So my experience with this choke plug is this:
I did a rebuild of my AAZ and accidently tossed out my oil filter stand. I grabbed one from an ABA (has the choke plug). I took the white oil switch out of it's original spot and drilled and tapped that hole for the oil feed line for the turbo. I moved the oil pressure switch to one of the spots on the front of the stand. Now the switch won't close (normally open), causing the alarm in the cluster to sound.
I'll pull the choke out and let you know what happens.
Use a gasser stand if you need to, but make sure you take the choke out. I fixed my issue.
