will an ATP 8v turbo manifold fit on a 1.6l td?

Also will there be any clearance issues and such?

It'll certainly bolt to the head, clearance issues will be determined by which turbo and chassis.

sorry, its a 92 td jetta. I found the atp mani. cheap with a 50 trim t3. I don't think the t3 will bolt up to the stock td manifold, though i may be mistaken. I am gonna go check it out in an hour or so.
I imagine it would entail alot of work to change the turbo position; new oil lines, DP....etc..
are 4bolt t3 flanges universal or does each manufacturer have different flanges?

atp manis have the flange pointing straight at the fire wall right? the turbo may hit...

well i bought the whole deal. t3 50 trim with a cosworth style housing, atp exhaust mani. and custom 2.5 inch ss dp. It was such a good deal i could not say no.
It came off an mk1 gasser, so i think it will fit in a mk2 td application. If not i'll have to grab a hammer and make it fit.
The clearance it will give around the intake manifold opens up a lot of options.

It will fit but will be very tight. There are pics in my build thread, the original turbo was a T3 45 on an ATP-style manifold. I had to massage the brake line a little bit but it fit. I don't know about a TD intake manifold, but I had a TDI-style one and I had to clearance both the intake and exhaust manifolds slightly so they would work. It was a giant pain and in the end, the turbo blew and I went back to a stock TD one, which made me have to re-do the downpipe, drain line, etc.....

think mk2 gasser or G60 intakes, they liven up these little engines.

well if i am gonna put a g60 intake manifold on I might as well put the supercharger on as well. Just makes sense doesn't it.
mmmmmmm twin charged.

what does a G60 intake have anything to do with a supercharger? you use JUST THE INTAKE. not the throttle body. just hook up boost to the gasser intake. it flows way better than the diesel unit, looks better, and doesnt bias cyls 2 & 3 like the stock unit does.
using the G60 intake is easy. hooking up the s/c to go with it is another story. ask Owen (truckinwagen) about how hard it is to make a G60 diesel. and how hard it is to fit a super charger where the injection pump is.
its your call. i was just giving you a simple solution for intakes. it makes sense to twin charge it, but its going to be just as hard no matter if you use a stock diesel intake, a G60 intake, or a big block chevy intake. a G60 setup is far from bolt on.. the intake bolts on, the rest needs some degree of modification.

I couldn't fit a gasser intake on mine no matter what I did, shy of making my own custom exhaust manifold.

if you use a stock diesel manifold, and dont flip it, a gasser intake will never work. unless you space the whole turbo/mani back about 3 inches. if you flip the diesel manifold, and grind it down where it hits the gasser intake, it works great. or you use a VNT, cut off the EGR port, and run the gasser intake. i have a VNT 17, and a K24 equipped engine running gasser intakes. only thing i dont like about them is they hide the sexy turbo.

Can't flip it on a Mk2, puts the turbine outlet right in to the passenger rear engine mount. I was bummed when I figured that out.

Slow down. Theres some rabbit roid rage goin on.
The g-60 intake is the way i will probably go. Twin charging a vw would be pointless. Its FWD. If i wanted something twin charged i would drive a Delta Integrale.
That said I got mad respect for anyone who pulls it off, just i am too lazy to do that much work to a vw. My Audi on the other hand.....
The setup i got has the hot side of the turbo on the passenger side with an awesome custom Dp snakin its way back to where it should be. The intake on the g60 mani is on the drivers side is it not?
Sounds like i may have to join the raintray intake club to get all the plumbing good. Plus after measuring everything it is going to be tight, real tight. Is it possible to cant the engine forward abit by spacin the rear mounts?
Second option is the hammer( my favorite). Either way its gonna fit.
How much difference is there between a .5o trim t3 and what vw have for a stock t3?
Rabbit on Roids if i was gonna twin charge this car it would be with a pulse jet (or two to make it symmetrical) stickin out the back! I LIKE IT GHETTO MAD MAX STYLE.
But that said heres the real way to make a vw go:
Mk2 S2 Golf Quattro.

I'll tell you now, fitting a turbo with a G60 intake and ATP turbo manifold will not work. compressor will hit the back of the intake manifold unless you space the turbo about 3 inches, which means you'd be in to the firewall at that point.
I beat myself over the head trying to figure this out for like a month and you just can't do it.
A .50 trim would probably work, depends on the A/R of the turbine side. The stock VW T3 is .42 on the compressor but has a pretty small turbine, the A/R I cannot remember right now.
