This engine build is utilizing a new German VW "fitted block", and will not be pushing much over 10-12psi boost. Already have Racewear's head studs.
Is it necessary or highly advisable to upgrade to ARP or Raceware studs for the rods and mains also for this 1.6TD? Do the stock, used rod fasteners even need to be replaced? TIA

At those boost levels, which aren't much higher than stock, I'm sure you'll be fine with standard factory hardware. I'm not sure about replacing the rod bolts. I really don't think they need to be replaced, especially when you consider that they have to be pressed out of the rods to do so. I think I read somewhere that the nuts need to be replaced though.
Con rods get "refurbished" when you take them to the shop with arp hardware.
they machine down the cap and re-size.

12psi on a diesel is like spitting in the ocean.
im running around 25 psi on a bone stock 1.5, and they have the weakest heads and blocks. some people on the forum are running 40+ psi in their engines.
so, yea, 12 psi is like spitting in the ocean. lol
8-10 psi is stock boost levels BTW.

That's good news. I'll just get new nuts for the rod bolts then. Thanks all.
