Those are for the day you decide to run gas injectors in your diesel.
Well, now you tell I need new(gas) injectors!?

alot of the times they just package diesel and gasser kits together. at least the 4 kits i have got have always had heat shields and orings.
If t'was for a 1.9 those donuts would be for the top of the valve cover... at least, three of 'em would be.

Nah...you've got a 1.6 so doesn't use the same donuts on the valve cover.. but that's why I asked you which engine you were talking about.
so a 1.6d and 1.8g use the same style of headgasket?
