I have set out to find replacement/oem parts for the ever illusive aaz engine. I am located in the states, and for those of us in the states that need these parts it is really difficult to find what we need. I thought that also we should start to put up performance aaz sections in the FAQ section, I of course, volunteer, as over time these engines will eventually trickle over the border and more enthusiasts will be looking for performance options. So far I have found a Canadian seller:
http://www.importcarpartscanada.cathanks, and hopefully, there is support from both the other side of the pond and from our friends in CANADA
as a reference the aaz was in the following cars in the following years:
Audi 80 (09/91-07/95), Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Transporter (T4), Volkswagen Passat, SEAT Ibiza Mk2 (02/93-08/97), SEAT Cordoba (09/93-08/97), SEAT Toledo (05/91-04/97)
some of these cars were only featured in europe, and some only in canada.

What do you need? I have 3 shorts and 1 complete engine sitting in my driveway? And the website is just a storefront for the usual suspects online parts suppliers. As for performance parts, well, few and far between. Mostly homegrown. Wanna go faster, more fuel more boost. IMHO.

I need to completely rebuild a cyl head. I already have thehead but will need new everything, cam followers, cam key, valve stem seals, valve guides, sensors, gaskets, everything save the head and valves and cam. I also ave the valve cover for one but not the other. Also wondering what that rubber thing is on top of the valve cover and what in the world I'm supposed to do with it? Who are the usual suspects? I am unaware of the manufacturers, and products for this engine, as this is my very first build.
thanks,
Kevin

Yeah, even in the last 6 months it seems the Worldpac inventories are going down, and the prices are definitely up.

After a complete rebuild and machining, I still won't have paid that much. 700 bones

that, my friend, is a lot of dough. That is the sole reason that I bought one from someone in the classifieds, got a heck of a deal.

i would have taken the new head had i been in your situation, and been dumping so much money into the engine, i would have spent the extra money. cause how much of your own time do you have in it? sure your time doesnt cost YOU anything, but its still effort that has to be done. i know it takes alot of time to do a full thorough rebuild on a head. 700 isnt bad is its a BRAND NEW VW head.

I found a new one complete with valve coverassy in the factory for 375.00, paid the 150.00 for a new set of complete 155 injectors and I sent them to Giles along with my pump for a performance overhaul
( trade ) for a new T3
My head was the same stamped vw mexico.
I would of kept, but a member back east called and needed one bad so off it went.
I will probly find another complete head later this year when I return to Germany, I would rather have a German head assy for that price.. ( 675.00 )
Now moving onto another project...
P.S. I do have a super clean german ( import )AAZ pump if you are looking ( core ) not rusty
