I have a late style 1.6 pump, I'm swapping in a pug pin, and doing some modifications myself as well as a rebuild. Still not sure if I should use the dual stage aaz injectors from the aaz head I got. Both the heads I recieved have germany stamped right on em. I am currently looking for the best injectors and nozzles to use on my build as well as breaking pressure "have lots of questions on the relationship" Not really sure how timing and all equates with this. That is tho say, that I would rather have a nasty idle "like an old hot rod with a loping idle" and have better performance drive wise.

dual stage are almost impossible to get calibrated right anymore. go with the 1.6 infectors.

the dual stage generally have larger nozzles in them. but they are so hard to calibrate that people just buy AAZ nozzles and put them in 1.6 bodies. that make more sense? cause i know of no one on here willfully running AAZ dual pops.

You could try contacting Mark's Bug Barn directly, since that's where Worldpac gets most of their vw parts from.

I have a set of clean aaz injector body's with new gtd .308 nozzles
These are std on 1.6 GTD motors
I purchased the from Kermatdi.com
zero time on them

there are .308's on the aaz injectors that I cleaned. I think that I will take you up on those injectors GB.

.308's are rather big if i remember right. i would go for something a bit smaller, like a .297 or something. thats what people always told me to run when i was gathering parts to puild my hot 5 pot TD..
and .308's are not stock nozzles on a GTD. not from what i read. i would still stay away from AAZ injectors/bodies as much as possible. you will not be able to service them like you can service a 1.6 injector.

I called Altrom, the gentleman said that Napa was one of their authorized sales distributors. They can get the parts, but it's 89 bones for four, that's quite a bit for precups. Anyone have cheaper? by the way, if you use the Altrom parts catalogue, you can get part nos. and reference them to get said parts from Napa, even in the states. I need to get lifters, seals, guides, precups for both heads. All of the valves look to be in fine shape, so I'll do a regrind. Also thinking of replacing the valve seats as well I'll get the info from the Napa stor and post prices and P/N's so all can see, the other thing is that you have to pay up front at the local Napa. PITA, and not cheap. This is the main reason for putting up this post, there has got to be an easier, and cheaper way to do this. I don't mean our mutual friend Prothe either.

either way, i was trying to cover my a$$, just so i wouldnt get any stupid criticism. i have been wrong before, and i am going to be wrong many times in the future. deal with it. im only human, not perfect like you. i actually try and expand my knowledge on here, you just try and sell people stuff they dont need.

Ok, this will be a double post, that is, it will be located in two places here and in the aaz parts thread. I went to my local Napa, and confirmed that they do, in fact, carry the Altrom parts inventory. I priced up "for US sales" all of the components that would be needed for a complete head rebuild. I will list the universal parts first then the older aaz head parts and then the newer aaz parts. The idea is to crate a a database or cross reference for aaz owners/builders so that cheaper prices can be rounded up and options weighed. I hope that this helps someone out there, namely me, if there is a cheaper route besides our mutual friend, Prothe then I'm all ears. Total for the two heads would be 900 bones!

includes everything but the valves, and the valve seats, springs, and retainers, as well as the keepers. All of these are priced each unless otherwise indicated. I ordered quantities appropriate for a rebuild, except for the precups, because I only needed four of them, plus freight, which was 28.99 for everything, came out to 900.78. That is more expensive than buying one of the heads listed on another website, so I'm sure that there is another location that the parts can be gotten from, just don't know where. Realistically, however, it is more expensive because I am buying for two heads, so $450.00, plus the $300.00 roughly that I spent on each, will put me right at what the other retailers want for their heads. Call me a cheapo all you want, but my search is not over. If you must have it, however, here is all of the reference data you will need. need more p/n's? go to the Altrom website and look it up, then go to a Napa store, or call, my guy was nice enough to print me out a nice sheet.
