Technically it's something metric but 1/8th pipe works fine.

Would the "something metric" be 10x1.0? I'm trying to figure out which VDO pressure sender to buy, and they offer it in 1/8NPT and 10mmx1.0. I know other vw engines use this metric size, so it wouldn't be a bad guess, but I don't want to get the wrong thing and have to deal with sending it back...

I know I should just get off my butt and carry it down to a parts store to have it measured, but I'm feeling lazy at the moment.

Correct it's a 10mm
I purchased the Mcnallyelectronics adapter that will have the 1/8 npt for my oil psi /oil temp guage

I thought about the McNally gauges; they're sooooo nice, but blue is the wrong color... And they cost an arm and leg. Thanks for chiming in.

1/8 works fine, just wrap it with teflon, because the metric thread is not tapered, the SAE is a tapered thread.

head over to the parker store and get a M10x1.0 to 1/8NPT adapter, costs like $6 and then you are not chewing the threads up in case you need to do something else with it later.
1/8NPT will fit in M10x1.0, but it will ruin the threads making installing the proper m10 fitting close to impossible.

I ordered the M10-fitted pressure sender, so no ruined threads here!

The Mcnally stuff is very nice, Aircraft quality
All three look nice in my center console, and I found another company that makes speedo gauge decals in various colors to match with led lighting
Good luck Chris !
