hello
just bought a 1.9td passat 35i due to my golf gtd was totaled...
this aaz pump has electrical stuff that i dont want to deal with...
i have a spare damaged 1.6gtd pump, could i swap the lda top and just delete the electrical stuff?
or is not that simple?
just want to tune this pump the way i had in the golf and keep it simple...

If you can post some pictures I think that would be really helpful... there were many different configurations of electric dohickies on AAZ pumps in different parts of the world as the pump design evolved towards the TDI version, some of which can be safely removed and some of which need to hang around.

Okay please explain what this pump is and what parts need to make it suitable on a TDI.
Thanks

I have similar to this one but with a domed top with pressure line. But it has electric lines on it too. Is the electric needed(other than solenoid ofcourse)?

Yes, you could, but you'd need to pull the extra pin that is present in the non-lda pumps.
Andrew
what pin?

there is a fuel limiting pin in the side of the pump that only lets it deliver so much fuel. you need to grind it off, or just drill the outisde and walk it out with vise grips. its hardened steel by the way, so you will need to grind it, not cut it.

that electronic switch just sends a signal to open or close the EGR vacuum valve...
swap it all

or just swap the LDA pin!

yes, i know what it is but i didn't knew if i could securely remove it without any bugs...electronic stuff kinda scares me....
tonight i am going to open the lid(i didn't have the tools to remove the screws) and see what is going on inside...

I just ran into this myself... got a call from Giles: "Your 'LDA' is empty. The pump needs a real LDA and a different camplate to be of any use as a performance pump." That'll add to the bill, you can bet... oh well.
AAZ pumps are not kosher.
