Just wondering, for those of you that have a turbo pump ie with lda, what is the best process to set up the pump for maximum power with minimal smoke levels?
Do you set max fuel first and then start to adjust the starwheel, boost pin etc in the lda afterwards?
Just wondering what other peoples view was on this or tried and tested methods?
Thanks,
Anton
Set the max fuel screw first, then the LDA dialed in...
When you say set the max fuel screw what do you mean?
To what point exactly?
Til it starts smoking or when my idle is so high that i cant reduce it with the idle screw?
Problem is if i put max fuel to where it smokes little and then adjust the starwheel and boost pin i start getting more smoke at the lower end of rpms.
Sorry for the questions but its nice to see what other people are doing....
yeah, I guess I should have been more precise... I usually START with the full load screw, then go to the LDA, then go back to the full load screw again to finish it all off... Sometimes alternating between the two a few times till I'm happy...
It really is trial and error and a fine balancing act to get good performance with minimal smoke.
So am i best to set the max fuel quite high first of all to be able to see changes in smoke more clearly, then adjust the lda so that these smoke levels are as close as possible at all rpms/load then back the max fuel screw out again to get rid of the smoke?
What all do you guys adjust in the lda and with what in mind?
Do you guys adjust for maximum travel of the boost pin and for the most amount of fuel added (aggressive slope) or is it totally dependent on car etc.
One other thing is that im worried that i will not have sufficient fuelling at higher rpms if i adjust it your way libbybapa, is this the dilemna we face?
