or the price of the Giles pump, you can get a new turbo that will bolt on to your 1.9 w/o custom work and this will solve your need for torque. I'm sure his pump will get you most of the way there, but you'll be bellowing black smoke to get there. Diesel will be back to $4 / gallon soon enough so it will pay for itself in fuel savings.
If Giles builds your pump, you won't be billowing black smoke (unless you ask for it). Turbos are a PITA.
I know with my pump, the bottom end power increase is amazing.

Giles can get 150 HP out of a 9mm plunger, so I don't think you'll need ot be upgrading to an 11
Tyler any figures on fuel economy yet? i'm quite interested. most people wouldn't believe you could get turbo power from a non aspirated diesel. and in most cases i bet your car is faster than a stock TD engine, especially without the lag
i still cant wait to get my setup working right... to see what his pump can do on the dyno
I would love to dyno my car, but the only one in town says no diesels
Sorry for slacking on the mileage numbers. I got as good as 4.9l/100kms but up until today it was getting around 6.0/100km which I'm guessing is because of the lack of compression. Before the winter I was usually getting 5.0 to 5.8l/100km depending on how I drove it.
But that motor is no longer in my car. I now have a 1.9 NA (freshly installed) My mom is getting that pump in her car
I now have a 1.9 NA (freshly installed)
You have a weird obsession with N/a's don't you...
