hi peeps, i wanna fit the pump top from my AAZ pump , onto the bottom end of my ABL ip. I know it can be done, just wondered if any1 can give me some rough instructions.
I will be removing the pump to do the modification, along with doing the gov mod at the same time.
Any help at all appreciated, cheers

To both of you: chance the whole pump. 1Y and ABL have small 8mm pumps.

i cant change the pump, as the AAZ pump i've got is a lter spec electronic one, with sensors and extra bits all over it....so its no use to me other than the top??

can you explain what you mean by measuring the protrusion of the governor shaft?
can i do all of this with basic tooling etc? or is there anything specific i'd need? Circlip pliers etc??
Do you have any photo's you could circle, and label for me??
Should i do gov mod at same time? or just change pump top, get it running again, then do gov mod later, so sticking to changing one variable at a time??
Also, any step by steps on removing the pump??

For plugging the hole you could use a ball bearing of a slightly larger diameter than the hole and then peen the case to hold it in??
what does peen mean??
the timing belt etc is allready brand new (1 week ago) so wont need to replace that, ha ha!!
Also, u mention the pic (stolen pic) with the governor shaft etc, but there is no pic attatched?? did u forget to post it, lol?
sorry for all the questions.......just gotta find my last post now, and find the pics u done for me before :-)[/code]

also.......just another quick question.......will my "non turbo" pump be the same as that from a 1989 1.6 D?
Could i fit a 1.6 pump to my engine?? As if so, i'll just chuck a GTD pump straight on my 1.9? will this work??
Might be an easier way out maybe??
If not, i need a 1.9 pump, so i can build one, and keep my standard one standard (incase i mess it up - i dont trust myself)
grrrr.......dunno what to do :-(

awesome, i now know what u mean by peening......it makes sense....cheers m8.
So are all the internals the same from the 1.6 to the 1.9? The dont run anything smaller internally etc, due to being for a 1.6, and not a 1.9?
if this is the case, then i'll just whack that on instead.
I do have the pulley from the 1.6, its still on the pump, only other thing is.....dont you set static timing by adjusting the pulley on a 1.9 pump, and its set by rocking the pump on a 1.6? will this still be the same?
