Hmmm, clattering like a powerstroke? What if I said that engine bay would be the last place I would want to be if I had a headache? It is real bad when it is cold, but quiets down a bit when it is warmed up.

ah yes... thicker fuel develops pressure a bit earlier, and thinner fuel takes a bit more time.
viscosity does play a pretty big role in the IDI motors :wink:
is that with the cold start cable pulled out? idle speed boost? at least hot idle isn't too bad... although you want the idle to be as quiet as possible.
Well, it is quite cold here (20 degrees, but a lot of you guys are Canadian, you know about cold).
I am running about 50% homegrown biodiesel (very thick in the cold)...That is with the lever in.
