The previous owner of my Jetta didn't do a very good job of keeping the water out of the fuel system as evidenced by the following pics.

IP cam plate

IP Roller
Ugly with a CAPITAL U. I was really impressed with the depth of the pits on the cam plate and on the rollers. The areas that now look like the surface of the moon used to look nice and shiny. Good thing I have that cam plate and 10mm head that I got off of Jimfoo through ebay or things would be really ugly. Giles has a kit with the rollers, shafts, and the special curved washers that I'm going to get and that will replace everything else. The head that came off the pump doesn't look too bad but I won't be able to judge it completely until I finish with all of the rest of the IP internals and housing in the parts washer.
candidates for the wall of carnage ?

I was thinking of hanging it on a chain around my neck for some great Diesel Bling

If i knew what i was doing that TR3 or what ever it says would say GTD
I've got a couple of pumps that are similar, but not quite that bad. Most sat outside exposed for some time, and still aren't that rough.
Yeetch!
That's nasty, just nasty.
I had a pump like that. The reason mine was like that was the "engine stopped running" so they parked it. I thought it stopped running because it ingested some water, and that water sat at the bottom of the pump while it sat for a long time. The lower section of the camplate and rollers were messed up. The top part was nice & shiney.
