Ok, so i got my golf's diesel conversion done...Now it comes down to I need it to be fast... A couple friends of mine have cars like Cobalt SS Supercharged, Grand Prix GTP with a Supercharged 3.8L V6, Mazda 6 GT 3.0L V6, G5 GT...What can I do to get my car to beat them...
Oh and the guy with the Cobalt SS also has a Firebird with a 350...I HAVE TO BEAT IT...lol

Its your daily driver too ?
As they say, speed is just a question of money !! LOL !!! Are you going to do all the tips on here about tweeking your IP and turbo ? Do you have an intercooler ?
If I were you, I'd also do propane injection. It will give you more power, and more MPG, but use a gas that is cheap and easy to get - as opposed to NOS.

well they can beat you to the fuel pump
why don't you just drive and save your money
for the amount of power you would need to beat any one of those cars, you will need a heck of a lot of money. for starters, dave aka 935racer is selling his complete turbo kit for $1800 (this is a STEAL!). this will only get you started. from there you will need a good pump, and i would highly recommend getting Giles to do it - another $950. injectors should be re-done and calibrated - about $200 total. you will also need head studs to keep everything clamped down - about $100 or more.
so you're at $3050 and that is a pretty good price... but it will only get you to around 180hp... maybe a bit more. and theres still a lot more to consider, such as brakes, suspension, bushings, etc...
so if you have money to burn, then you could probably beat them, and if not, just save your money  not to mention the insurance cost, and the monthly payment

Only the Cobalt has a racing suspension on it...and i think hes the only one out of them all that knows how to drive that car fast...4500RPM in 5th with a 6500 cut off...210kph...my 1.8L gas would stop at 210 at 6500  I plan on upgrading my suspension and lowering the car down..No I don't have a intercooler and yes its my daily driver...my commute is only 5 km one way...I remember taking my sister's MK3 with the 1.9 in it and going wide up unmodded and going about 240 with it...

propane doesn't work too good on IDI.
for acceleration its not power that counts, its power to weight ratio.
the less weight you have, the less power you need.
so, get their power (dyno sheet), the weight, frontal area, Cx, tires used.
then calculate their acceleration, you will be surprised on how many horses they waste on dragging excess weight.
for top speed you need horsepower, a LOT, as the Cx of the golf is ridiculous for todays standards.
basically you can beat them at the lights, and 100m later watch them go away. (that is after you spent a LOT of money in the car)

Depending on what's been done to the 350, remember there is no replacement for displacement. Even more importantly, remember speed kills! Been more than a few street racers around here that have killed themselves, their friends, and innocent people.

Honestly, you won't ever be faster than any of those cars.
You can't compare a little 1.6 (I assume) engine to 3 litre engines. Especially if they have them supercharged.

I have a 1.9 in it, and high speed races is over for me...I got caught last fall in a race and should of got nailed with a 700$ fine and 8 points...for us its a 1/4 mile strip that we play on...I know I could out run them all

let them go wide open for 30 minutes and let them all find a gas station...My golf is actually the slowest car I've ever owned...

if you're looking for top speed, just get a TDI PD150 6 speed tranny and stick one of those 0.655 5th gears in it... that thing will go way over 210km/h...
here in Ontario your car will be impounded if you go over 50km/h or race... and maybe crushed depending on the circumstances...

Are you any good at fiberglass faborication ? You could make a carbon fiber replacement for your hood and trunk - same a fair amount there.
Are you concerned about crash safty on the highway ? All the glass except the windshield could be replaced with 1/8 or 3/16" polycarb. This will shead LOTS of weight, but could be an issue if you ever crash on the street.

I'm going to lighting the the front end with a fiberglass front bumper and looking at a carbon fiber hood...and i'm getting all light weight rims put on...If i can't out run them, i want to out perform them  and i need to keep the glass...because we have stricked safety laws...and I can't afford to get caught with an unsafe car...I'm trying to get into the RCMP...
