I remember Hillfolk taking the stock VW rings to Total Seal, and they were impressed with the quality. Although I can't be real sure, but I think they also said that there wouldn't be much improvement useing Total Seal rings over the stock rings.
It was a few years ago, maybe 4 or 6. But it was on this board, not the old Host Board.
Take it for what its worth
I remember him doing that... But even getting OE rings at this point is a time thing, by the time I had a set and sent them to Total seal and recieved them back I wold be beyond the time for the original order.
CRAP!!!

The part number for 1mm over pistons is 7844-40 (TSR-S7844-40)
.50mm over would be 7844-20 (TSR-S7844-20)
Standard would be 7844-00 (TSR-S7844-00)
Summit Racing # is the one in the ( ).
They were $191.69 before shipping.

Umm, yup.
Belive me at this point I'm wishin I had just bought OE rings and been done with it but I guess we live and learn.
The true test will be 15k miles from now.
If it's still running at that point I'll be happy, it damn well better be, at that time there will be cold white stuff all over the ground.
