• I have an AAZ with a KO3 and gearbox from a '93 mk3 golf. will be rebuilt soon.
  
  What I lack is a decent car to put it in - I was looking for a nice 2 door mk2 golf gti with a dead engine (mmmm cheap!)
  
  but have been offer a 1989 UK spec Scirocco at a really really good price.
  
  will my engine & box slot into the scirocco - is it just the usual VW 'lego'?
  
  or are the motor & transmission mounting points different & is there enough clearance between the motor & firewall  for the turbo?
  
  has anyone done a similar swap?
  
  sorry for the dumb questions but the guy with the car wants a fast answer  :roll:

• should be fine - im pretty sure the 'rocco front end is the same as golf in most respects.
