I've got a cluster from a petrol golf and i was wondering if i can use the tacho from that in my diesel...?
Currently i have the clock and i used to have a W terminal but i replaced the alternator with a corrado G60s alternator so it doesnt have that terminal. Altho i think i can get that plate changed and get the W terminal back..?
Has anyone done this kinda stuff before? will it give me accurate readings?

How can i tell if my car is a CE1 or a CE2 or if my cluster is a CE1 or CE2??
CE2 clusters will have 1 plug on the back. CE1 clusters will have two plugs.

So they are not interchangeable... rite..
I currently have a cluster CE1 VDO cluster on my TD MK2... with a speedo and a clock..
And i am getting a CE1 Moto meter cluster with speedo and a tach for diesel MK2... but the location of temperature guage and fuel guage is different as compared to my original cluster....
So will this cluster with the tack work in my car? with out any alterarations?
If the answer is NO... than what if the cluster with tach is by VDO... will that work???
