yep, all pieces were gathered from 2 na engines. the injection is all from my old motor that was running great and its all on this "known good" "80k mile" longblock...

clearance on 2 of the intake valves is a little big... just out of spec, but that wont effect compression. ill change them, but not yet.
i got # 3 and 4 done but couldnt fit the adapter between the pump and #1 and 2 so ill have to figure something else out. looks like i might have an adapter for the injector that im gonna have to try out and see if it works.
so far i have about 540psi at 3 and just a hair under that in 4.
so, half of the motor is good, anyway...

had a spare moment today so i checked the compression
im getting ~500psi across all 4 cylinders.
when i pulled the 2nd injector, its tip was covered in oil...
any ideas? valve stem seal?

try bumping the timing down to 0.90
Did you replace the heatsheilds after the compression tests?
ill try bumping the timing down a bit.
i have not been able to find my extra heat shields... know of a place online i can order a set or 2?

ordered a set.
also have valve stem seals on the way and the special tool to press them in without removing the valve/head.
we'll see how it all goes next chance i get to work on it
