  You can, but the rubber gasket is an upgrade and requires a shouldered stud.

  Back on topic, I have fitted both a polished 2.0 8v (2E code) and a G60 (PG code to my 1.6 GTD (SB code) and haven't had to modify anything other than fit the neoprene gasket kit from VW

  probably best to search on German Ebay for "G40 Ventildeckel"

  Unfortunately they were only fitted to the Polo G40 (1.4 supercharged engine) so aren't very common.

• The g40 (PY) which has the rocker cover that might fit the AAZ has the same block and head casting as a 1.3 (2G) (I have one of these in my garage)
  if you need any sizes/dimensions of the rocker cover  let me now and Ill measure it up (bearing in mind mine is the standard pressed steel cover)

  but your GTD is an SB with the 8 studs along the edge his is an aaz (MK3) with the 3 in the middle?

• What dimensions you need? between the bolts and the exterior dimensions? I have a couple of them!
