1.6L Block with a 1.5L head - It's alive
« on: December 18, 2007, 07:06:15 pm »
The wanted to say that my mix and match engine runs great.

Recap:

- 1.5L head
- 11mm 1.6L block
- 1.5L 5 notch head gasket

Every thing went smooth, got all the little nuts and bolts replaced were nasty, found out the clutch was almost new, cleaned everything up, and I everything is the way that I want it to be.

The only minor issue was that the oil return on the block was actually a little bigger than the head gasket itself.  A little high temp RTV around the oil return and problem solved.

The car runs like a champ...We'll see how long that lasts.
