I have a 1995 Jetta 1.9 TD 5 sp. Pretty basic other than air con, cruise (no worky), and the tempermental power lock/alarm.
i can see a good reason for having the rpm sensor with this cruise control system though... it will disengage if you lose traction, where if you did not have it hooked up, your tires could just spin and you will lose control if you don't react fast enough...
You mean the optical rmp sensor?
the kit doesnt come with an optical rpm sensor does it??? $$$ i would assume...
I have the factory cruise and it doesn't work. Tried fuses, nothing wrong there....still a mystery to me. Haynes manual is very silent on the topic.
i've seen the round vacuum ball thing have cracks in the rubber... so the vacuum would be applied, but it wouldn't work. this could be the case??? if so just use a rubber tire patch kit or something... either that or a vacuum leak from somewhere else.
