I just checked and the DI nozzles on the car the pump is from open at around 200BAR, so not much different. HMMM...
Try putting the aneroid setup back to std or o wee bet tweeked , i think it is the injectors on the di that ar 2 stage and not the head ( i could be wrong ) prima pumps up to 1990 single stage after that 2 stage, you mit want to retard your pump timeing a little, all the head has changed is more voulume of fuel to the injectors then higher restrision = higher psi,
or it could be your 11mm head is a bit goosed
Andrew,
I agree with the logic, and of course opening of the injectors will be sooner as the opening pressure is reached sooner in the plunger stroke, but then why is it not smoking and diesel knocking?
I think overly advanced will make it smoke alot more off boost..
I am still convinced that the fuel is just not getting through. It feels like as if you had the fuel screw turned right out (although it was all the way in), and changing the fuel screw either way had little effect.
The noise was a little marbles on plate, but just little ones, not proper knocking, which I think must have been the pre-injection doofer.
