New here, but not to diesels
« on: June 28, 2007, 04:40:03 am »
Hi all!
I've been reading posts here for a while now...
I have a Passat eco-diesel that's undergoing a bit of a tune up :D . I'm running 1.2bars of boost and enough fuel for it to leave a cloud of black smoke behind when I floor it.
So far so good. The thing is that I think it should be faster, it runs from 80-120kph in 11seconds in 5th right now.
How fast is a stock non-eco TD?

I don't have an IC installed yet, I have a stock Passat TD IC but I'm thinking it's better with a bigger (thinner) one. What do you think, is the standard IC efficient enough?

Is it the 1.9 or the 1.6?

Oh, sorry, it's a 1.9 AAZ.
Did a few runs today:
80-120kph in 4th gear = 8,35sec
80-120kph in 5th gear = 10,6sec

The stock IC will be better then no IC

I can't comment on your acceleration though
