Engine Swap 1.6NA to 1.6 Turbo

I am kind of new to vw diesels cars. I had my 86 Golf 1.6 NA for over a year now. Runs great...BUT.... I need more power. A fellow mechanic has 1.6 Turbo engine with under 40,000 miles on a rebuild. It came out of his car that got totaled. He has just the engine.
  Before I install this engine is there any mods. I can do. I saw a post were a intercooler from a Saab 900 was installed and a heaver wastegate spring was installed, and something about turning the fuel enrichment for turo boost up.
  So to do this swap what stock parts will I need (Air Cleaner, Brackets, Ect.) And what mods. are worth doing and were do I get these part from. Thanks for the help.

so it sounds like he didn't keep the air cleaner or intake hose or anything?  if not you're kinda sorta gonna need that stuff, which is fairly easy to find for the most part, i know that burn_your_money can hook you up.  the only thing you'll need to change is your downpipe for this motor to work, i did an n/a to turbo swap in my mk1 jetta, everything bolts right in accept the down pipe,  if you want performance, i would suggest getting a passenger performance down pipe and then a full exhaust behind it, but that's up to you.  on a mk1 you also have to move the fuel filter, but thats not really a big deal either
