Quantum TD brackets / manifolds
« on: January 03, 2007, 09:27:15 am »
Does anyone have any pics of the motor mount brackets, injection pump bracket and alternator setup from a Quantum TD?

I searched the archives and found some pics of the intake / exhaust manifolds, but couldn't get a good idea of how the IP sits in there.

I've got a project in mind (Fox wagon TD) and I need to do some figuring...

Sure:  http://motorheads.net/vw/turbobus has some pictures of the alternator and motor mount brackets.  If you need more, just ask.

Thanks!  Any shots of what the front of the engine looks like? Does it use a snubber mount?   Do you have a shot of the stock QTD downpipe?

Also... on that intake, I notice there are two holes for the "spigot".  I thought the Quantum used the one on the side while the Golf / Jetta / Rabbit installs used the hole on the top.  Is that the case on those?

Finally... I've seen a Garrett turbo on those Quantum's as well.  They didn't seem to have the portion of the turbine housing that connected to the engine mount. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, there is a snubber mount on the front.  The downpipe is still in the car but I can snap a picture of it.  I will update this post when I have the pictures.

On the intake, the port on the side is hooked to EGR and the port on top comes from the turbo.  I'm not sure it's this way for all Quantums.

Okay, here are the pictures.  For the life of me I can't remember how/where the front mount attaches to the engine.

Hey does anyone know how to change the motor mounts on a Quantum TD? Bently doesn't give an explanation. Can I jack up the motor or will I need to lift it from above? Thanks
