The K24 woke that machine up, lol he let it out into first hammered it and the tires screamed, then power to second and they screamed louder until he caught traction......
It was open dwn pipe, so after every shift you hear a wicked howl from the front of the car
I can't even imagine what traction will be like when he add's boost and nitrous..... all I can think of is permanent slicks....

so when i get my intercooler installed, up the boost to 15-20, how you think my car will do? its got added fuel right now but thats about it.

It all depends on the age, driving style, size of intercooler, piping to intercooler, exhaust, howmuch fuel at idle, max fuel at full rev.....
I ran 18 s with no intercooler, modded LDA pin, extra fuel, no governor mod, and straight exhaust, and stock clutch
with intercooler, you will notice eaiser power potential, and cooler EGT, make sure the piping to the turbo and intercooler is fairly straight, and as short as possible.
why not run a air to water intercooler?

So just to have an idea - how much power (+/-) are you getting out of this?

how's the low end? i'm thinking of a k24 on my 1.9td, but don't want to completely kill the low end power

i have no idea about the power but i know my car is light i weighed it with 3/4 tank of fuel and me out of it and it was 2350 or something.i weigh 150 lbs soo do the math.i am running 2.5 inch intercooler piping. dr diesel has experience with k24s on 1.9s they might spool to late for your liking but will give you much better topend power. i think im at max boost at 2500 ish which isnt that high.the giles pump does wonders for low end torque on a 1.6 so i think that is the biggest contributor to power gains it is alot different then all of the modded pumps i have ever done.

so 2.5 inch intercooler piping, up the boost to say 20ish, eventually get a gilles pump, GTD injectors, add a bit more fuel...sounds good to me, i love mechanical engines

you ran 18's with how much boost? that's really weak, i know with my closed waste gate, fueling increased by only a half turn, and then with the boost pin turned around to the side that allows for the most fuel, and the star wheel down about 1.5 turns, it feels much faster than an 18 second car, but that's letting the boost get into the 20's. that's with out an intercooler, but with a 2 1/4" exhaust from the cast down pipe back.

"feels" faster then 18s its kind of all in your head when the turbo hits you can really feel it pull but with good traction hid did like a flat 18 or something

man if i'd go to the track with my car and only put down an 18 i'd sell my car there. so i will avoid going to the track XD

in an a1 you should be able to get low 17' probably 16's at least
i remember a dude at the drags with an a2 jetta gasser, basic bolt ons,and it was runnin mid 17's
i got my ol jetta down to a 15.79
and that was without the 12mm pump, and the centerforce clutch,ya had to let up in between shifts to let it grab
the pump made a big difference, maybe it would do mid 15's maybe 15.3 or so maybe maybe, but ill never know now, just guessin

2.25" maximum for aftercooler piping, 2.5" creates far too large of drop in pressure. 2" Also works great. Let me know when your down here next I'll make your car pretty quick

The k24's and t3's are great on the 1.9's, when tuned right you will find you have a more useable power band than you ever did with the tiny stock turbos, but if you just throw one on with no tuning you might find it laggy. There are quite few things to get the larger turbos spooling up sooner.
