« on: May 06, 2006, 06:09:45 pm »
How do you collapse a lifter? I am going to install the cam but i cant collapse the lifters and the vaves are open when its not even close to the cam lift point. So how do collapse them and how much time does it take?

Thanks

Jeff

All you can do is install the cam and wait. Turn the crank away from TDC so no pistons can hit valves and install the head. By the time you have it torqued the lifters should have leaked down and you can go ahead and install the timing belt.

Edit - takes about an hour for a lifter to leak down
