p/n of IP advance/high idle lever plastic bushing
« on: February 29, 2016, 06:46:18 am »
I am swapping out the IP on my 92 Eco which is leaking at the main seal along with other issues (I have a spare 91 Eco motor with a good IP). The spare IP needs the plastic bushing (disintegrated) for the advance/high idle lever. The DGK 126 Bosch rebuild kit does not include this bushing. Anyone know the p/n and where to get it?

Vag-cat (online ETKA) lists the part number.

Found this ETKA online http://etka.cc/vw but it does not work very well.
I know I entered my VIN correctly but I get:

Something is wrong…There is no result for your VIN code or your entered VIN code is incorrect! Please try again!

Dealership item.
They'll find it for you.
Kinda spendy.
I have heard of someone cutting down some of the plastic plugs in the reseal kit and they fit.

Got p/n from dealer 068 130 337 , around $7 ea! Can someone verify this p/n for future reference even though I am not going to buy it since it's not in stock and I don't want to wait a few days. I went to plan B and made my own out of a piece of Nylon tubing. The new pump is installed, just have to connect the fuel lines and see if it'll start and fine tune the timing. I can post pics of how I made the bushing if anyone is interested.

Found a great thread of the bushing(s) with pic/ diagram / p/n http://www.vwdieselparts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7889

Evidently 2 bushings are needed. Glad I didn't order from dealer because I would have paid $7 ordering one and then add insult to injury have to order another one!

I went to the local hardware store and they have these nylon bushings in drawers that fit the lever just right and I only had to increase the diameter a very little bit to get the pin to go in place.  I think they cost about 40 cents.

My diy bushing is one piece. The nylon tubing I used was an interference for both o.d. and i.d. Had to use a heat gun to soften it to get it into bracket hole then a diamond grinding bit to increase the i.d. as shown here. Works fine and will never break again.
