Anyone in Ontario want to make some dough?
« on: March 21, 2006, 01:47:46 pm »
As per the title guys I know squat about this diesel engine...well close to squat. I am wondering if there are any handy guys in or around the Kingston area that would like to make a few bucks and do some/all of the engine mods on my 1.9L TD. I have access to a heated shop with many/most of the tools you will need ie Hydrolic lifts etc.
I am hoping to learn from your guys vast knowledge in this area and don't mind paying to do so.
Thanks in advance.

I'm game, but I'd rather do it at my shop,as everything is here.

What are you looking to get done ?

I'd like to get the common mods done. I'm triing to convince myself this car has enough umpf to satisfy me, and have read many threads on this forum regarding pump adjustments, max fuel, increase boost etc.
I just don't have the skills to do it myself.
Tomorrow I'm going to pull the injectors and send them to SMOG to get new nozzles installed.
I have read about adding an intercooler but am unsure how hard the mod is and what the cost/benefit ratio would be.

As for doing it in your shop, that ain't a prob depending on your shops location.....come to think of it, if your going to do this work, can I just order the injector nozzles and have you install them? You can pop test them right?

Let me know..and thanks for responding.

I don't have a pop tester, will have one soon.I have never really needed one,as the injection shop sets up all of our injectors.

It would take some time to have them sent out,and have the pressures sent. This would just hold you up.Better off to send them to Smog, and I think he can set them up for you. After they are re-installed,then make the trip down for the day,and we can play around with it.
