so will it work??
« on: June 17, 2013, 08:50:35 pm »

got aaz im shaft, vac pump.. theman..
giz supplied headgasket..
8v supplied head..

bottom end is what it is.. not discussion at the moment.. till i figure out headgasket.. http://www.cometic.com/  talking to a drag racing friend.. that place can build me new spacer for head gasket.. so i can increase the compression to a better one.. if i cannot get the 1hole aaz to work..

too bad when i removed the im shaft from it.. i found this..

so i guess im bearings.. still gotta find a fuel pump, oil pump.. and need to clearance the head gasket as the pistons hit it.. :(  1.9 aaz bores too small.. :P by just a tad..

looking thru cosmic.. i can buy a specialty thickness headgasket for a 9a.. cut rivits on the aaz.. use the top layre of aaz with proper bottom portion.. i bet that would work.. :P

too bad the im bearings need work :( gotta finish vr6t, lots of little crap for cross country.. so sept ill get back to this.. but ive wanted to build this contraption for many years.. 95ish.. just got pieces to do it now..

It will go, but how far is my question LOL. I have an oil pump if you are down this way, don't know which engine it is from.

well at least we know what has high volume oil pump for those wanting no power brakes for a 1.9... too bad the gears go wrong way to use in a diesel.. :D and 1.6 hits crank.. LOL..

honestly.. i need to get giz's piston protrude piston height so i can subtract mine from it to see how much more slim the hg needs to be for proper compression ratio by mix/match 9a and aaz hg.. :D may last 4 ever!

What "my protrusion was" is not important. Use the numbers theman posted in the FAQ which I believe are from the Bentley.

Also, if you wanted to trim the gasket to the bore diameters, clamp the gasket firmly to the block and use a laminate bit in a router. Put on a flak-jaket first ;D

but my piston/rod no count... need to get batt 4 micrometer as its dead now..

basically a 1 hole aaz 2x as thick as gasser one... if i can create a .5 hole aaz gasket.. see where my brain is going? i can then mill the micky mouse ears if this works.. then hell even a aaz head after that... using the 1.6 hydro as we know how crappy aaz head can be on a 1.6..

right now.. if i guessed.. with 1hole.. it will be like a 1.6 w/1.9 head... i can deal w/that in the jack rabbit which is where this will end up... but if it works well i wanna "tweek" it and need ways to do this.. lots of 9a out there not in use.. people doing 1.8t swaps not 2.0 16v stuff anymore... so tons of possible bottom ends that not dipped in gold yet..

if this works.. getting set of custom aba pistons come next.. set of forged tdi 2.0 anyone?? or idi. see where this takes us :D way lots 2.slow 4 sale..

The bearings can be had from sealed power I know cause there's a box on my shelf at the shop!
It's (2 letters,I forgot) and 1726 after that. Crap. I've probably posted it too.
As long as the protrusion is something u can work with more cubes is always better.
I guess on paper it's more of a revver, spinner than a 1.9.
Throttle cables ftw

 ;D

well short block like 1.6... 2.0 for displacement.. idi revs more then tdi supposedly.. by the time i add nos and propain to it i hope i can get the diesel to burn up into the 7k range..

so yep.. rev like snot diesel that smoke 16vs.. i know well built 1.8/2.0 8v that ive pieced together do.. and kubvan will do hurtin on most 2. slows.. so will be interesting.. once shoe horned into a 1500lb jackrabbit should be fun.. just a 16v in 3rd will rev more then diesel.. need that extra rpm to keep pullin..

I suppose. What of the fueling cutting off at 5800-6000? Are you hoping the propane will take over completely?

Gov mod + tdi plunger return springs + 1.6 camplate should take care of pump rpm limitations, provided enough dynamic advance is available. But I've heard propane acts as sort of a catalyst for the diesel burn, so that should help out as well. And with a toy like this, I don't think crappy idle from monkeying with the governor will turn out to be too much of an issue.
