I have the head (taking it to the M/C shop next week). I have the 0.5mm O/S 1.5 pistons, the rods, the crank, and a bunch of other stuff.
What I don't yet have is a good 1.6 TD hydro block for the project, so I'm keeping my eyes open for a good deal on one.
If it flops, it's back to the drawing board. If it works, I put myself in the Land Speed Racing record books.

Takes more than a motor, good luck, bring sun screen.
You are very right. It will take a whole lotta stuff for this to work out. The engine is just one piece of the puzzle, even if it's a big piece.

You, sir, are the man!
That is really great, please post how it goes. It looks like you have more than enough know how to pull it all together.
Thumbs up!!
too bad hes not using a vw vehicle tho.. a caddy would be much lighter..
It's not a drag race, too light can be bad.
I am "hopeful" that the Rampage will have slightly better aero characteristics than a Caddy, although there isn't much wind tunnel testing data for either vehicle. Both Caddies and Rampages have had some success in the mini-pickup classes at Bonneville.
