prothe 155 BAR injectors
« on: March 30, 2011, 09:52:03 am »
I ordered 4 injectors from http://www.hansdieselparts.com/16TDInjector.htm

The injectors i got, all 4 of them had one return nipple on them.

Then the nozzle looked like it wasnt even a real nozzle just a blank

Has anyone else ordered these and had this problem?

Search prothe on the different vw forums and you will see he has a spotty record for quality from many customers. I used germanautoparts.com for my engine parts and had no issues. Good luck.

Holy crapola Corey ... those are really a bad joke.

Must be a fresh batch of rejects.
No one else has spoken of those characteristics before.

Bosch nozzles have gone up almost double and triple at most suppliers. They were $10 each for long time. I think one place still has them for $15. Can you pop test injectors at your tech school - and rebuild your old ones ?

You can make 130-135 injs into 155 with proper shims

You'd have to use some creative plumbing with a handful of T's to run those single spouts. But the nozzle looks like a solid piece with a nipple protrusion ... lmao

return/exchange em... not sure how you can make it work with only one return. I have a set of the 135  bar versions with no issues.

*edit-> I guess you try some combination of "t" connectors and you could run em as Baron said, 1->2->4 ?

Haha some stuff from prothe is a joke lmao...  IDK! I think im going to return them and get the injector from somewhere else. The only reason i dont pop test them at my tech school is because i dont have the right shims to put in the injector. I have one 155 BAR the rest are 135 BAR.

Where is a well known high quality place to buy these 155 BAR injectors?

Thanks everyone for feedback

I don't think Bosch has started offering the 155's new again ... Yet.
They have brought the 130-135's back new, recently. (about 80-100 each)

Last check, AutohausAZ and Partsgeek offered reman'd Bosch 155's for around 40 each - plus a core charge.

A good Bosch authorized fuel shop can rebuild whatever you have into 155's with new Bosch nozzles for about 30-40 each. Depending what they charge for the nozzles now - might be higher. You might be better to supply them the nozzles basing on their price quotes ... its a gamble though i guess. Some rumors of hit/miss nozzles now being made in India for Bosch.

One thing about them doing them and supplying the nozzles too - less hassle if a nozzle has a bad spray pattern/defect. They just pull another one from stock and you don't have to bother with returns etc...

If you can pop test and spray test at tech school, reman'd Bosch from AhAZ or Pgeek is probly worth considering.

I think ill go the route of AutohausAZ ive bought alot from them and the quality is there for sure!

39 dollars isnt bad at all. http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=die1wj55tkcbilvhwkpecc45&makeid=800026@VW&modelid=1282700@JETTA%20DELUXE%20TDI&year=1983&cid=22@Fuel%20%26%20Air%20System&gid=11167@Diesel%20Injector

when i order them probably next week ill let every one know what the pop pressure and spray pattern are. Im sure they both will be on point.

They say they rebuild them inhouse, so maybe they'd be willing to recalibrate a set, to order.
