i go with a local guy cause i don't have to pay shipping, i would assume everyone else does haha, he usually has the best part and the best price.

best way to get ahold of him is by calling, which is best anyway because his website doesn't have nearly all the things he sells

I use autohausaz.com. Many of the parts are German, some are Mexican (often they say on the website so you know what you're gonna get). Quality has been good so far, and price usually beats local sources (when there even is a local source).

Most of the parts in my Jetta are from Autohaus. They must love me, I've paid hundred$ to them... and I'm not even done...

Find someone that can buy from worldpac, they're as good of parts as you can get nowadays.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

VWs use metric rings yo..

you get .5mm over size (.030)

or 1mm over size (.060)

never heard of 40 over rings for a VW diesel tho.

why would you want SAE size rings when you cant get that size of piston?

maybe im wrong, but all the replacement pistons i see, are .5mm OS, or 1mm OS..

All I am saying is Jack at vwdieselparts.com sells .020 and .040 pistons and rings. I have no idea why he uses that size, he just does.

i just wonder why someone would want rings for a piston size ive never even heard of..

like i say, all ive ever seen for over size pistons, are all in half mm sizes bigger than stock.

i totally believe you that jack sells 20 and 40 over rings tho..

Thats cool.  Honestly, I never saw anyone advertise the metric versions of rings/pistons.  I know Jack refuses to buy cheap parts and only gets OEM / german genuine quality parts. Its interesting you brought that up because if you hadn't, I wouldn't have known that.

I also use Autohaus for all my parts, even for some of the BMW parts. I havent found cheaper anywhere else that say OEM.
A part from the dealer will be $200, Napa wants 150.00, BAP wants 100 and Autohaus wants $25.00 for the same part. (not all parts are drop that steep, but ive found most are 50% less than anywhere else)
