difference injection pump 4,5,6 cylinder
« on: December 13, 2010, 05:22:35 pm »
Hi all,

I would like to know the difference between the 4,5 and 6 cylinder VE pump. Is this just the cam plate, plunger and head?

Grtz

I looked at my Volvo pump and the pump bodies seem to be the same.

the head, plunger, and cam plate will all be different, along with some other parts maybe.

and its a good bet that the governors are all different, unless all pumps in question are vw pumps..

So it should be possible to use the pumpbody of a 4 cylinder and make, with the use of the right head, plunger and camplate, a 6 cylinder pump out of it?

it makes sense. i forgot the gov assy is above the roller cage. and on a 4banger pump, the rollers are spaced just right, as to not interfere with the gov assy.
