AC condenser question

I am in the process of trying to get the AC to work in my 92 Ecodiesel. I pulled the condenser and the dryer and will replace both. There's a filter that is part of a big fat hose. What kind of a filter is it? Can it be flushed out?

I also noticed there are 3 service ports which I've never seen before. One is near the top right of the condenser (near battery), one near the suction port of the compressor and one near the expansion valve. Why are there 3 service ports?

That's not a filter, its a muffler. Most AC purists claim that you can't flush it, or you're not supposed to. I'm not sure. I flushed one on a MK3 that I was selling, so I didn't really care. It worked fine.

Not sure about all the service ports.

FYI: The OEM condensor for the ECODiesel is slightly different in design from the regular MK2s. I'm not sure if it's significant, but there is a bevel to the fins on the top edge of the condensor. All other MK2s have a squared edge. Just something I've noticed: not sure if it's relevant. But it could be an indicator of other differences. You may want to thoroughly compare your old condensor to your new one before you attempt to install it.

I did notice the bevel on the condenser. Maybe it is for clearanace? I'll make sure the new condenser will not have interferance before installing it.

I had a hatd time getting the headlight sheet metal off. The radiator mount on the left (the one with a hook bend that goes through a slot in the sheetmetal. The thing is locked in place. How is it suppose to come off? It needs to be rotated but there was no room for that. I ended up prying  the slot in the sheet metal to make clearance to clear the radiator hook mount.

I received a new condenser and dryer from Autohausaz but the condenser don't fit! The 2 bottom mounting studs are in the wrong place such that it interferes with the radiator. Now I have to deal with getting an RMA to return it and get another one elsewhere. Anyone know (for sure) where I can get a condenser that will fit my 92 Ecodiesel without going to the stealer?
