PC's Peening
« on: April 12, 2010, 10:31:27 pm »
Has anyone here peen there pre-chambers?
Do you use a round punch perpendicular to the head or at an angle toward the pre-chamber?
How hard are you suppose to hit the cylinder head with a hammer?
If the head was already resurfaced, and you peen the head around the pre-chamber, do you still go over the head/pre-chamber area with a file or not?

Thanks

I have seen some pics on here where someone peened around the prechamber inserts, but that was at least a couple of years ago.

Personally, I can't see that it would help much. I think the chances of doing more damage to the head are high, and for not much in the way of benefit, considering the prechambers dropping out are a rare thing, and seem to be caused by other problems (wrong injector nozzles, bad/leaky injectors have been suggested).

I wouldnt do it. But thats just me.
