« on: March 23, 2010, 12:39:27 am »
got myself a 1980 1981 (according to the VIN) Caddy!!!

drove 200 miles to buy it then drove it home. needs a little tuning and some restoration but it's in pretty good shape (dash isn't even cracked!!!). Basically a 1 owner.

will post pix when i have two seconds to breathe and have some fun time.

(currently w/o front bumper)

you know, decarbonated beer is a better coolant than the stuff you buy at the auto store, and is better for you...... really

I had the remotes on my last rabbit and I didn't care for them too much but the TMI stuff I'd check out. Got a link?

NEW Tailgate :  EBAY:300423831385, wants too much 600.00 reserve

I have some BBS 15 x 6 on ebay myself, fresh powdercoat with new cap's, perfect for that truck !
EBAY 270574615327

I would do  a rhinoliner on your bed or the bedrug.

Iam working on a bedrug for the caddy in the next few weeks , will be bottom ONLY ( no sides ) with the tailgate included.

bedrug.com has some info...

I have rear axle bump stops also ( new production )

tailgate buffers ( rattle ) ebay seller moogie2498

tailgate handle, rabbitparts.com ( black )

You can get a techtonics downpipe and a 2.25 or 2.50 exhaust for it also
DP is S/S in either size

I can help you with batter cable ( positive ) 1/0 size , 24 inches long.  12.50
turbo to manifold boot ( rubber ) now silicone
32.50 with clamp's

I have a extra speedo with 4700 miles on it also ( 1980 ) round, make me a offer

What else ?

First thing on the list is to get it running better;
-fix the fuel leak, air in the line from somewhere pre-separator.
-tb, h20 pump, new engine mounts, new gp's and relay, replace fuel return lines (got all the parts from Myke already)
     -check the brakes
Second, send my spare pump to Giles to have it worked over.
Then Tires will be mounted on stock steelies painted black and I've got some chrome center caps to go with them.
Then i'll start on interior;
-Pull out headliner, saggy and rubs my head, think i'll put in black felt all the way down behind the seats
-get some black carpet from TMI probably
-find lower dash parts I need, knee bar, ash tray, glove box (mines cracked at hinges)
Then I've got an idea for a ram-air style hood I want to try out, picture subaru hood scoop but vw fashion/function.

Moogie2498 ebay seller might have the dash parts

TMI now has the patterns for the door panels with the lx mirror holes and 3 pin cabby armrest
dean at tmi will help you

Go with the newton.com carpet kit, all others dont have the kickpanels or the cutouts for the seat rails or the seatbelts or shifter

negative, looked through everything, nada.

my door cards are good, at least for now. arm rests are pretty low on the list.

Go with the newton.com carpet kit, all others dont have the kickpanels or the cutouts for the seat rails or the seatbelts or shifter
the pdf on TMI shows the kickpanel pieces (I think) and I can cut the other parts out... but I'll check newton.com's kit and compare.

SEND MOOGIE A EMAIL, TELL HIM I SENT YOU !

I make his stuff on contract...

get some feedback on the vortex forum about the TMI stuff

You wont go wrong with the newton carpet, the money you think you will save from TMI or stockinteriours.com, will not make up for it in the time on cutting and fitting and extra material

Iam not sure if TMI does there own ?

I just got my second set of door panels and they forgot to cutout the door handle pull area ( vinyl)material
and forgot my panel clip's ?

another call to make
