Head interchange
« on: February 11, 2010, 09:40:34 am »
Well-digging thru our collection of things the boss never threw away at work, I came up with a head. Its a solid lifter 11mm bolt hole.rusty core.  I was hoping to steal the pre-cups out of it. They are unfortunatly smaller than whats in my CY td head. (But get this-they are magnetic-while the ones in my head aren't!-so we all are correct!)

So-the big question--will this head work on my block? I have all new guides + valves to go into something-and the pre cups in the core head look decent.
91 Jetta on WVO na / td swap in progress.

its a 1.5 head.
my 1.5 heads have magnetic cups too.
people basically told me i was high, or they were replaced.
and they were stock pieces.
i wouldnt try and bolt a 1.5 head on your 1.6 block.
you gotta drill the head bolts bigger, and make an oil drain adapter.
