I pulled to top off my aaz's pump last night to replace the throttle bushing and seal. As I removed the throttle shaft / governor assembly I noticed there was no idle spring present:

As you can see the retainers for it are there and so is the circlip on the end of the shaft. Has anyone seen this before?
The engine it came off was running and idling fine before pulled the pump off. I was gentle taking the cover off and everything seemed to slide apart without any glitches. I've peered down into the lower case for any spring bits but I can't see anything.
Since it was running well before I think I'm going to reinstall it as is. I could put a light spring on there but I'm leery of messing up the idle if the spring is too stiff or not the right length.
Any thoughts?
It was probably apart before and someone forgot or lost the spring. It is little and has happened before. Probably put it together because they needed it and to see if it worked and "would order the spring later" and never did.
I see. Well I don't have time to order the spring at the moment either, so it looks like it will be going back in as is. Maybe someone else can puzzle over it again in the distant future.
That's normal. You have an extra spring attached to the side of the cover right?
yup. Great, that's what I was hoping to hear! Thanks
