Injector pump driveshaft seal questions?
« on: October 22, 2009, 11:16:44 am »
Can you change the drive shaft seal without breaking into the pump body and removing the drive shaft first?  Or can you just pull the old seal and drive the new seal over the nose of the drive shaft?

Yeah, it can be done......I've seen how I've just never done it. Someone one here did a writeup on how to do it.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

 That's how it's normally done.
We don't take the pump apart to change the shaft seal.
No pictures but I ground down a small screwdriver and use it to get under the seal and pop it up.
 Saw it on ebay.
I wrap the shaft in some copper to protect it.
