Bought 1991 Jetta 1.6 N/a wont run

I just purchased a 1991 Jetta that does not run the guy recently was driving it and it quit on him six weeks ago. What would cause this I was thinking something in the fuel system? Any other Ideas why it would lose power and quit all of a sudden?

you bought a non-running car why? lol

What does it do when you turn the key?
Does the little orange light come on in the dashboard?
Does the engine turn?
Is there any smoke at all from the tailpipe?
Is the battery fully charged?

You gotta give us more then "the car quit on him, whats wrong". Hell ANYTHING could be wrong with that vague description lol.

Describe everything that is happening and someone here WILL most definitely be able to help you

I bought it cause it was in really good shape and it was cheap and came with two engines and a bunch of parts as a project. I will update this weekend going to get into it more then see if i can fill you guys in on some details. So i can get some help on where to get started.
