Hi guys, i just bought a golf 95 1,9td and the first injector is not the same as the 3 others. It looks smaller and shorter. Apparently, the other owner had a broken injector and replaced it with an injector from an other diesel car. I was wondering what kind of injector could fit into an AAZ head and can it have something to see with the knocking sound from the side of the engine where the injector is?
If anybody knows what i am talking about, then i would like to know the size of socket to use to unscrew it. It looks to be 22mm or 20mm.
Thx very much
Sounds like they put an injector from the 1.6 in it....
Does it matter? should i just leave it or put four same injectors? Is it the same pressure? What does it do on the fuel economy (good, bad or same?
Thx
You should change it. It is completely different. The AAZ injectors have 2 opening pressures, the first being 150 BAR the second is over 200. The 1.6 injector only has one opening pressure, 155 BAR for turbo, and 130 BAR for NA. Mercedes injectors will even screw in (I think).
It could definetely be causing the knocking.
Oh yeah, 27mm extra deep socket
Thanks Tyler, the car drove ok but that knocking soundsss! I am going to change it tomorrow with four others injectors from an AAZ.
