Hi! great thread there, have you modified the control lever? The eccentric is the camplate? Your using the one from the tdi on and idi? does this work well?

I think the gist of his post is that he drilled the dynamic timing advance slot wider to allow a higher advance at high rpm. It also looks like he swapped in a lower rate spring, among some other small tweaks.

Not sure if he said he got a DI plate working on an IDI..

I really want to know if this can work, because i seem to be on the limit of what my pump can chuck in, everythings maxed out on the 11mm head and it still underfuels, it goes well, but i just know its got so much more yet...

Looking at a DI plate, the bumps are much higher at there highest point, so more plunger travel meaning more fuel right?

Problem i can see is being DI its a much shorter injection, which i think mite cause me issues on IDI

Dear all,

i have add some new picture, because i have mod the governor yesterday.
Because the link is in german, here are some basic informations:

The goal is to built a pump for maximum power and high speed, up 6000 rpm.
The pump should be fit to the VW 1.6 and 1.9 IDI engines and as i know, they
would also fit to the older VW DI engines (1Z....).

As basis pump i used modern 1.6 TD pump with the advanted idle speed mechanik
on the back side of the pump. The original camplate lift was 2.2mm and it has had
a standard 9mm high pressure plunger.

In general i wand to make 4  major mods, that is why i called it stage 4:
 1. advanted dynamic timing
 2. 10mm high pressure plunger with 3.5mm camplate lift (both from a VP37 pump (VW DI engine, code: AFN)
 3. governor mod to increase fuel amount at higher speed
 4. increase the LDA plunger lift

At the moment, i have allready installed step 1 to step 3, step 4 is missing.

Are you using a DI camplate with the original lever or the lever that came with the DI pump?

When i say lever i mean the principal lever. It connects the control collar on the plunger to the "throttle" lever that you are doing the governor mod on. The throttle pivots and pulls the principal lever which moves the control collar.
Are you using the principal lever that came with the pump or the lever that came with the camplate?
What camplate are you using, DI or IDI?

Dear all,

i could finish my pump build last weekend and restart the engine.
Up to now, i have a power increasing, which is difficult to evaluate, because the cluth is not able to transver the torque.
(But even now, i could decrease the G-Tech (both with slipping clutch) time from 16,5s to 16,0s for 1/4 Mile strip)
In the moment i have still a bad idle running, but i hope i can fix that, without big modifications.
Pherhaps the douple spring injectors, causing a problem in regard to a to quick pressure increasing.

i did 16.25 measured on a gtech, setup was: stock pump with turned up fueling, stuck closed wastegate 25-28psi, stock cast downpipe into a 2" down pipe into a 2.25 tt exhaust.  had the same problem tho, clutch slipped but not too bad,  stock clutch is definitely not any good once you start modding.

Agreed, mine in my NA(franken TD) is slipping mainly in 3rd and 4th with aggressive driving.  New Clutch, New Engine= more power, more fun.
